MVSC's Fall Competitive Striker Program is open to all players on MVSC Competitive Teams.  The program is designed to provide our players with a fun and invaluable third weekly practice session, as a supplement to team training during the fall season.  Our program's emphasis is on the technical, tactical and mental components involved in creating goal scoring chances and finishing on goal.  Players will experience high repetitions building attack, creating shots and finishing on goal in a variety of situations (e.g., crosses, breakaways, set pieces, combination play, 1 v 1 to goal, 2 v 1 to goal, etc.).  Sessions will include lots of small-sided games with opportunities to go to goal.  All players -- regardless of the positions they may play in games -- will benefit from building confidence in attacking moments, improving technique and developing an attacking mentality.  Players can expect to improve ball control, dribbling, ball-striking technique and game awareness.  Players will be grouped primarily by gender, team and ability, with players from more than one competitive team sometimes training together.  

This program has been incredibly popular with our competitive players in previous years.  We're looking forward to another exciting season!

SCHEDULE

All sessions take place on Fridays at Alto Field, from September 5 - October 17.

• U8-U11 Girls & U8-U11 Boys:  3:45-5:00pm
• U12 and older Girls (Rockers and United) & U12 Boys:  5:05-6:20pm

In the event of inclement weather, please check MVSC's home page after 2:30pm on the day of training to find out if the field is open.  We will add make-up sessions at the end of the program for any sessions canceled due to field closure.

WHO COACHES?  

Our Friday Striker Program will be staffed by experienced professional coaches from MVSC’s Competitive Program.

COST  

$200 for 7 sessions

Daily drop-ins:

Drop-in fee is $30 per session (cash or check made payable to MVSC).

WHAT TO BRING?  

Participants should wear their Rockers/Fusion/United practice t-shirt (or a gray or white shirt), and bring a soccer ball, water bottle, cleats, shin guards, and a desire to work hard and improve!
