Competitive Goalkeeper Program

MVSC is pleased to announce our 2025 Fall Goalkeeper Training Program for competitive players.  Our professionally coached clinics will help Goalkeepers build a solid foundation by teaching the basics of goalkeeping. Topics covered will include shot stopping, catching, aerial duels (air balls), distribution, footwork, and positioning. Each session will conclude with finishing on the goal in a game-like situation, while incorporating communication, positioning and technique.

Competitive Goalkeeper Clinics

  • Session 1:  Fridays, September 5 - October 24, 3:30-4:30pm @ Alto Field.  For U8 & U9 Competitive Team Goalkeepers (Boys and Girls)
  • Session 2:  Fridays, September 5 - October 24, 4:30-5:30pm @ Alto Field.  For all U10 Competitive Team Goalkeepers and less experienced U11 Competitive Team Goalkeepers (Boys and Girls)
  • Session 3:  Fridays, September 5 - October 24, 5:30-6:45pm @ Alto Field.  For experienced U11 Competitive Team Goalkeepers & all U12* Competitive Team Goalkeepers (Boys and Girls).

* U13 and older United goalkeepers will have separate goalkeeper training sessions on Fridays, with a separate registration.

In the event of inclement weather, please check MVSC's home page after 2:45pm on the day of training to find out if the session is canceled.  In the event of cancellation, a make-up session will be added at the end of the program.

COST:

Competitive players do not pay for these sessions, as payment will be billed to the Competitive Teams.  Attendees still need to register to secure a spot.

Space is limited to participate in our fall GK program. 

Daily Drop-ins are not permitted.

PROFESSIONAL GOALKEEPING TRAINER:

MVSC is thrilled to have Kellis Johnson back for her 11th year as our Professional Goalkeeper Trainer.  Kellis played goalkeeper for Marin Catholic High School (where she broke several goalkeeper records she still holds today), and later played at the University of Colorado Boulder Division 1 Women's program. She graduated with a BA in Studio Arts Ceramics, BA in History, Minor in Technology, Arts, and Media, and certificate in Business.  Kellis has coached and trained youth and college goalkeepers for the past 19 years in youth clubs in boulder, co and throughout the north bay.  She is currently on her 8th year as the Assistant/Goalkeeper Coach at Dominican University. She spent 10 years coaching High School Soccer at Boulder High School, Branson and most recently at Marin Catholic. She has coached in every program at MVSC over the last 11 years and has a vast knowledge of every level offered at MVSC. She holds USSF C, D and E licenses and the NSCAA Goalkeeper Diploma. She is currently working towards getting her MBA at Dominican University.
